Former Mayor Of Bellaire Joins Metro Board

When the METRO Board of Directors meets for its regularly scheduled meeting on April 26, you’ll notice a new face among the nine-member board- Cindy Siegel.

The former mayor of Bellaire was appointed to the board by the 14 multi-city mayors in the METRO service area. Siegel replaces longtime board member Jimmy Stewart, whose term had expired.

		METRO’s Rail Expansion Nears Halfway Mark

		METRO’s three new light-rail lines are more than 45 percent complete and expected to open for service in 2014. Railway station construction is now underway at three locations on the East End (Green) Line - which will connect to the existing Main St. (Red) Line. Station progress reached 8 percent on Feb. 20, 2012, including work on EaDO / Stadium Station, Lockwood / Eastwood Station, and the Coffee Plant/Second Ward Station. learn more >>
